Meet Alexis Peterson — Current orthotist practitioner resident at Hanger Clinic in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Born and raised in Long Beach, Alexis completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas and her Master’s in O&P at Loma Linda University. She chose to pursue O&P after noticing the impact that O&P has on people’s lives while coaching a children’s wheelchair basketball team for the Rehab Institute of Chicago (RIC) as well as her involvement with the DoD warrior games. Alexis says “Watching kids adapt using orthotics and prosthetics was truly something amazing.” After volunteering at an O&P clinic, she just knew this profession was right for her. She is very excited to become certified and begin her career!
